Memory lane

Our Mother's Day hike this year was a week late, on account of the weather. You see, the cold has caused late bloom times, and the real purpose of the traditional walk is to visit a forgotten bunch of lilacs.

Here's a short picture story. It takes place just south of the 403, east of Aldershot ViaRail station...


Ahhh ... Burlington nature. What have they done with everything green? (this scene was quite a shock)

Maybe next time we'll be able to park closer to our destination ... half of the hike has been razed for some unknown purpose - parking lot?

Must squeeze in an old favourite - shagbark hickory

Here are the lilacs ... always a little more overgrown than the last visit. They line what used to be a farm driveway.

Dad has to relocate the old vegetable garden every year .. it moves all over the place!

Found some onions ... Hopefully these can continue to persist through the years. When i'm greyhaired i'll smile to see them poking up through some pavement crack at an old trainstation.
