So, this is life

A loooong 19 years since the beginning of structured education, this week marked the beginning of structured work. Yikes. Check out this office space ... bet no one else enjoys such basement digs from 9-5 ...


This is the sight that greets me at the bottom of the stairs every morning. If you don't look at the floor too long you'll be alright. Around the corner to the left is the laundry closet (yes, closet), boss's office, bathroom and, of course, furnace room with eerily monster-like 1930's equipment.



As you can see, surface area is prime real estate. Deanne, if you look closely you can see the bunny slippers on the side table next to the rad - essential for long standing hours on a tile floor. The pink tennis ball is Finn's. Maybe i'll get a picture of my stinky companion sometime too ... Take note of the precise draftingtable placement. Angled to trap heat from the rad right around me and, more importantly, halt oppressively potent odours from the dog. Tried not to make it too obvious. Is it obvious?? Gah! i hope he doesn't suspect anything. So far we have a dandy relationship...

Here you can see Finn's luxurious bed. He honestly sits here the ENTIRE day, occasionally throwing his ball across the room (i told him he can't tempt me with goobery toys, but he's determined that the subtle tactic will work one day. i'm a tough nut to crack though .. we'll see about this, there's not much room for tennis down here). Mom, see the stool! Still serving good purpose after all these years (yes, once in awhile it's sat on..otherwise the coveted surface is grand for pencils, pens, erasers, scales, calculator, templates, photos...).
